(Fixed) Can't select a device as the destination

Post by konso » Thu Nov 29, 2018 9:12 am

Hi,

I have a weird problem with DDRescue-GUI: I can't select a device path as the image destination.

Steps:
-in Image Destination select Specify Path/File
-change selection type to (S)ATA HDDs/USB Drives
-navigate to /dev and select (for instance) sdc, click Save
-now Image Destination reads "/dev/sdc.img" and recovery saves to that file instead of /dev/sdc device

DDRescue-GUI version 2.0.0
Installed from your repository with apt
OS: Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is a bug, but it will be fixed in the next release. If you can select /dev/sdc from the dropdown menu for the image destination, that will work though.

NB: I moved this to the bugs sub forum.

Hope this helps,
Hamish

A fix for this was released with DDRescue-GUI version 2.0.1.
